Here are the known compatibility tips for this release:

Folder Sizing and File Sharing:
If you are using System 7.0 and have selected the "Calculate folder sizes" or the "Show disk info" options of the Views control panel, or have turned on network File sharing in the Sharing Setup control panel, then the Macintosh Finder carries out periodic actions in the background. This can cause pauses during playback when the Finder accesses your hard disk.
If you encounter these pauses deselect the "Calculate folder sizes" or the "Show disk info" options of the Views control panel. If the pauses persist, turn off file sharing.
Note: Cinemation may still pause periodically during playback if it does not have enough memory to fully accelerate your movie.

Accelerated Movies in CinePlayer:
When you use the CinePlayer to open a movie that was saved accelerated, it will play at slightly less than full speed the first time through.
The CinePlayer does this so that it doesn't need to open an "Accelerating" dialog when you play a movie.
To play a sequence in the CinePlayer at full speed the first time through, put a "Pause until Accelerated" link on the first frame of the sequence.

After Dark:
Certain screen savers request Multifinder system memory when they are activated. If this memory is not available, they may crash.
To reserve adequate system memory for your screen saver, reduce the Application Memory Size of Cinemation or another application that you are using.

Virtual Memory:
Cinemation will operate with System 7 virtual memory on. However, since virtual memory requires frequent disk access, you may notice pauses during playback or other operations.
If you are experiencing these pauses, turn virtual memory off.

System 6.0.5:
The sound manager in System 6.0.5 has certain problems which can cause crashes when playing sounds. Cinemation will run with 6.0.5, but will not repeat sounds during playback to minimize the chance of a system crash.
If you are using sounds, you should upgrade to System 6.0.7 or a more recent version.

System 6.0.7, System 6.0.8
If you are using System 6.0.7 or System 6.0.8 without MultiFinder, the Finder will allocate all available memory to your open application. This can cause problems with sounds and interactive links between Cinemation movies.
If you encounter problems trying to access sounds stored in Cinemation movies or trying to link between movies, you may need to reserve more memory for your system. To reserve system memory, either remove some of your extensions from your system folder and restart your computer, or turn on MultiFinder and reduce the application memory size of Cinemation.

System 7.0.1
System 7.0 and System 7.0.1 have certain problems that can interfere with your computer's performance. System Tuner version 1.1.1 fixes these problems. Cinemation will run without the tuner installed, but you may experience difficulties. To avoid these difficulties, you should either install Tuner 1.1.1 or upgrade to System 7.1.

System 7
Both System 7.0.1 and System 7.1 can experience difficuties if your open applications use all of your computer's available RAM. These difficulties will be most noticeable with fonts, sounds and QuickTime movies. To avoid difficulties with System 7, maintain a 200-300K buffer for your system. You can help maintain this buffer by not allocating all of your available RAM to any one application.

PowerPoint / Persuasion import
Cinemation displays slides the same size as they were when viewed at 100% size in PowerPoint or Persuasion. If your page set up options are set to 35 mm or overhead size in those programs, your slides may not fit well on the screen. In order to make your slides fit on the screen in Cinemation, change the PowerPoint or Persuasion page set up to screen size before you export to scrapbook format.

Persuasion
You can decrease the size and memory requirements of your scrapbook Persuasion files by exporting the background as a separate scrapbook file, and then exporting your slides without the background fill. You can recombine the background and slides in Cinemation by first importing the background, and then importing the file containing your slides.
